|
This article was written by Emperor Chien Lung to explicate his opinions of calligraphy. He considered calligraphy a sort of pastime but not just a pastime; he believed calligraphy serves a function of triggering diverse nostalgia moods of the viewers. Thoughts and natures of ancient calligraphers can be conveyed through their works, and that’s why their works are worth keeping and admiring. He emphasized calligraphy is more than something just for appreciation. |

| 此帖，是蔡襄作詩上呈宋仁宗之作。在詩前是蔡襄向仁說進呈這首詩的原因。仁宗曾賜書並賜字「君謨」蔡襄，並且對蔡襄有很大的期望，希望蔡襄可以為天下國家盡力，蔡襄極為感動，也是備受榮寵，因此寫詩進呈。詩的大意是感謝皇帝對他的重視，稱讚皇帝的盛德，最後則說自己一定會為國家竭盡心力，讓皇帝的成就，可以上追上古的聖君明王。 |
