【摘要】
|
此封曾肇與友人的書信，是在年末之時，從信中之文可知，曾肇與友人皆受到小人的攻擊，所以信中有安慰的文字，但是又不得說得太明白，因為怕「遠書萬一流落，不可不慮」。也就是說如果彼此的書信被小人得到，可能就會成為被小人攻擊、陷害的根據。最後曾肇說到就隨著情勢的自然發展，不用去擔心。狀況不好的，不是只有友人才這樣，而是「所在皆爾」，是被小人攻擊、陷害的人都不好過。所以，到了年末，天氣更加寒冷，還是要注意自己身體健康比較重要。 |

【釋文】
|
肇奉別行復歲暮，傾鄉實倍常情。但公私紛紛，為問不數，別紙丁寧，豈惟益友忠告之誼，亦出於憂國懇懇之誠。反復數四，不勝感歎。衰拙於此，豈能口然。但再三則瀆，終恐無補爾。餘非會面，不究所懷。遠書萬一流落，不可不慮也。海陵過此相見，誠如所諭。所諭廣陵之傳，乃邸吏誤報。乘流得坎，任其自然，未嘗以此為念。上下匱乏，所在皆爾，非獨彼也。歲晚益寒，強食自愛為祝。肇又上 |

A comfort letter

Inside Story This was a letter Tsen Chao wrote to a friend. One can tell from the content that both of them were falsely accused by villains, thus the letter was full of words of comforting. Tsen Chao advised his friend that they should just let it go and not worry too much because for those who were framed life certainly would not be easy. Tsen Chao also reminded his friend that it was more important to take good care of oneself as it was closer to the end of the year and the weather was getting colder.
