這是王升向友人說自己近況的信。王升因為自己年老，又生病，所以要「杜門」也是關起自家的門，謝絕一切訪客。雖然是有這樣的想法，但是信中也說因為近來有友人去拜訪，還是讓王升很高興，也很感謝友人還是把他當朋友對待。 |

升再拜：衰老杜門多病，久不承興居之問，日益系詠。近魏端叔見臨，能道動止之詳，用以為慰。累蒙見許，一週弊圃，竟不聞足音，因出切幸迂臨。至叩，至叩。 升再拜 |

Inside Story This was the letter Wang Shen wrote to his friend about his recent condition. Wang Shen was getting old and was ill; he intended to decline visitors. Although he was thinking of doing so, when there were visitors came to his home he was happy to see them and he was glad that they still treated him as a friend.
