【摘要】
|
此帖記載的事情是：在去年的十二月時，張中叔寄來山預(一種塊莖類植物，其莖可食，有人說就是地瓜，也有人說是芋頭)，但是那時黃庭堅因為公務的關係，不在沙頭，到了今年四月時，才去領回，但是都已發芽，不能食用，實在很可惜，所以黃庭堅的兒姪輩就想還是試著煮煮看，結果出人意料之外，非常好吃。因此，黃庭堅也有所感歎，認為不可以隨便糟踏人材，就像人不可以隨意丟棄己經發芽的山預。(黃庭堅本來就中央政府中做事，就是因為被人陷害，才被貶官到南方，才會有這麼深刻的感受。宋代的南方是比較落後的地區。) |

【釋文】
|
當陽張中叔去年臘月寄山預來，留荊南久之。四月，余乃到沙頭取視之：萌芽森然，有盈尺者，意皆可棄。小兒輩請試煮食之，乃大好。蓋與發牙小豆同法，物理不可盡如此！今之論人材者，用其所知而輕棄人，可勝歎哉！ |

About mountain yams

Inside Story A friend sent some yams to Huang Tingchien last December, but he did not return home until April. By then, the yams had already sprouted and didn’t look like they were edible, but he thought it was a pity to throw them away and had his nephews try to cook the yams. Surprisingly they turned out delicious. This event made Huang Tingchein realize that one mustn’t undervalue and waste extraordinary people just like one should not throw away sprouted yams without trying to cook them first.
